A Living Will and Understanding It

Irreversible Condition, "Artificial nutrition and hydration" means the provision of nutrients or fluids by a tube inserted in a vein, under the skin in the subcutaneous tissues, or in the stomach (gastrointestinal tract).

Irreversible condition means a condition, injury, or illness:

1. That may be treated, but is Never Cured or eliminated;

2. That leaves a person Unable to Care for Oneself, or make decisions

3. That, without life-sustaining treatment provided in accordance with the Prevailing Standard of Medical Care, is fatal.

Many serious illnesses such as cancer, failure of major organs (kidney, heart, liver, or lung), and Serious Brain Disease such as Alzheimer's dementia may be considered irreversible early on.

There is no cure, but the patient may be kept alive for prolonged periods of time if the patient receives life-sustaining treatments. Late in the course of the same illness, the disease may be Considered Terminal when, even with treatment, the patient is expected to die. You may wish to consider which burdens of treatment you would be willing to accept in an effort to achieve a particular outcome. This is a very personal decision that you may wish to discuss with your physician, family, or other important persons in your life. Two Rules for Happy Living

In "New Slant on Life", a book written by L. Ron Hubbard, we find the following:

"Two rules for happy living:

"1. Be able to experience anything.

"2. Cause only those things which others are able to experience easily."

I would first like to discuss rule #2: "Cause only those things which others are able to experience easily."

How well do you apply this to your spouse? To your boyfriend; girlfriend? To your boss; your employees?

How often do you cause something that another does NOT experience easily? And when that does happen, what kind of other effects are you left with? You usually have upsets, some of which may linger for some time.

Step back and reflect for a few seconds. If you saw completely eye to eye with "cause only those things which others are able to experience easily", you could virtually eliminate all upsets from your life.

If your marriage were free from upsets, what kind of an effect would this have?

Some people think that upsets are a "fact of life" and that every marriage has them. Well, so far that's very true. They indeed are a fact of life. But you could go very far in reducing the number of upsets by applying just one principle: "cause only those things which others are able to experience easily."

Next time you find yourself in a situation where your next action or your next communication is NOT going to be experienced easily, CHANGE the action, CHANGE the communication to something that CAN be experienced easily.

This principle may sound very, very simple. And indeed it is. But it is also very powerful.

Which brings us to rule #1: "Be able to experience anything."

This principle doesn't really leave much for interpretation, does it? Anything means anything! So whatever comes your way, be able to experience it.

If your wife comes up to you and tells you she just overdrew the checking account, BE ABLE TO EXPERIENCE that.

In this one example, we have the wife causing something that the husband might not experience very easily. But instead of the husband going into a major tirade, he decides that he is ABLE TO EXPERIENCE it. This situation has definite potential for causing an upset, an upset that might affect the overall condition of the marriage. But one person stepped up and applied one of the two rules for happy living.

Now, if BOTH partners were working earnestly on applying BOTH rules for happy living, we would indeed have a much happier marriage.

Use these two rules to the best of your ability. You will find every one of your relationships improving daily!

Work From Home And Take Action

When you work from home, it is very likely that you are self employed and more likely an entrepreneur. If you are working a job from home this article will not have the importance or impact that it will for the entrepreneur. If you are an entrepreneur that wants to work from home, then I would hope that you’ve done a bit of homework (pardon the play on words). In your homework, you hopefully sat down and thought about what you would like to accomplish as an entrepreneur. If you haven’t done that, then please go to some of my previous articles that are searchable by my name.

So you have sat down and written out what your goals are for your work from home business. Great! You have gotten off on the right foot. Let’s also assume that as an entrepreneur you are fairly ambitious. You have set a goal or destination that is unexplored territory for you. I think that’s excellent – why set a goal or try and get excited about something you’ve already done? Let’s head for uncharted territory.

Now guess what. Your goal or destination lies in the realm of the unknown – at least to you. Now it is going to require that you use thinking other than the thinking that got you to where you are now, to move forward and attain your goals. Einstein said “the current set of problems we face will not be solved by the same level of thinking that got us there”. Neither will you get to where you want to be with the same level of thinking and effort that you have done before.

So to reach your goal you must do at least these two things. You must seek out thoughts that are different than the ones you’ve had before and you must take actions you have never taken before. To get those thoughts, you must somehow mastermind with people that are either at the point where you want to be, or at least they are much closer to it than you are. Find other people that work from home and have had great success with it. Maybe they are in the company you work with, or if you truly work alone, then get books and tapes from people who have done it. Maybe even get some coaching from someone who has had success working from home.

Once you realize the mindset and thoughts that are necessary to get to your destination, you must take action. Guess what the outcome will be if you fail to take any action because of fear in your life? You guessed it – failure. So you must take action to reach your goals.

Here is a great guideline for decision making: First, will the action I am considering move me in the direction of my goals? Second, will the action I’m about to take cause harm or violate the rights of anyone? If the answers are yes and no respectively, then you MUST take the action – and do so IMMEDIATELY! This is the method of operation of successful people that I know personally who work from home. To get to your goals more quickly, take more action. If you have fear, take more action. What is the alternative? Think about it.

Organizing Your Living Room Family Room

Generally there is one room in the house where most of the "family living" takes place. In order to have a pleasant and welcoming living area for your family, and a place you can be proud of when you have visitors, you need to come up with some type of organization and storage for your main room, whether it be the living room or family room.

Step back and take a look at your room as a stranger would. Is it cluttered? Are there newspapers, catalogs and magazines pilled up all over the tables? Kids toys thrown all over? Shoes lying around? What is the condition of the furniture, would you feel comfortable sitting on your sofa, or does it obviously belong to the family dog?

One great way to start organizing any room in your house is to start with empty baskets with the name of each family member. Anything that you find in the living room/family room that doesn't belong in that room goes into that person's basket. That pair of sneakers, those comic books, that old sweatshirt, the toys. Deliver the basket to the appropriate owner. Once you've gone through the clutter, focus on newspapers, catalogs and magazines. Throw out the old ones. If you must have your magazines and catalogs get a nice magazine holder you can put next to your chair.

Now that you've cleared most of the clutter take a look around again. Just how dusty was that furniture under all that "stuff"? Get one of those nifty magnet-like dust cloths and dust, dust, dust. It's likely that once you see clean and shiny surface you'll be more apt to keep it that way. Use some Windex on your TV and stereo cabinet. Looking much better by now isn't it? Now it's time to vacuum. If you have the time, do it thoroughly. Have someone help you pull the sofa and chairs out, vacuum behind them. If you don't have the time, vacuum around the furniture until you do have the time for a thorough vacuum.

Now it's time to focus on the furniture. If your sofa has been stained and shredded by the kids and the animals, and if the site of it make you cringe, imagine how your guests feel when you invite them to sit on it. It might be time for a new one. If a new one is out of the question, you can easily give your sofa a new and updated look with a slipcover. There are lots of fitted slipcovers available in wide varieties of colors and patterns and there is sure to be one to suit your decorating taste.

There, wasn't that easy?

Home Security Defend Your Home and Possessions Against Intruders

With all of the emphasis in the past few years on Homeland Security, many people have overlooked the importance of home security. While it might not make the first story on the news, when your house is burgled, safeguarding your home soon becomes the most important issue in your world.

The Facts

There's no reason to wait until it happens to you. According to the US Bureau of Justice Statistics, about 75% of all crime in the United States is property crime. In 2003, there were 14 million thefts of property. In 83% of these crimes, the burglars actually entered the home or some other building to steal property.

According to the FBI's Uniform Crime Reports, residential burglaries in 2003 averaged $1600 in property or cash loss per incident. This does not include repair of locks, doors, windows, and other destruction. Are you willing to give $1600 (not to mention the security of your home and safety of your family) to a burglar?

It can happen to anyone. Whether you live in an urban, suburban, or rural area, you are a target of burglars. What are you going to do about it?

The Options

Never underestimate the resourcefulness of an intruder. Simply locking your doors and windows isnt enough. If you can think of a way to get into your home, surely someone who makes crime his living will be able to as well.

You also shouldnï't overestimate the resourcefulness of neighbors. Neighborhood watches are fine, but how many of your neighbors spend every hour you arenï't home watching your house? How would they distinguish between a furniture delivery and a robbery? Can you tell just by looking if someone is simply walking for exercise or casing houses for possible burglary attempts? Even houses less than a mile from police stations are easily robbed.

There are more effective options that will prevent break-ins and make your home secure.

Home Alarms

A simple loud noise will not deter a criminal. Your neighbors are likely to turn up their televisions to drown out the sound. Battery and even electrically operated sound alarms are easily thwarted by criminals.

If you are going to use a home alarm, you should use a monitored system. When you decide between monitored home alarm systems, you generally have three choices ' a do-it-yourself system, a national monitoring system, and a local home security company system.

The do-it-yourself installation systems are by far the cheapest. You need a bit of technical know-how, and you need to know how an intruder enters. When you buy your own equipment, you have your choice of companies to monitor your system. Some systems let you program additional numbers to be called when the alarm is triggered, which isnt as helpful as youd think. By the time you or a neighbor is able to react and call the police, your burglar is usually long gone. It's best to stick with the pros.

National alarm system monitoring services (such as ADT or Brinks) are the most popular. Common customer complaints include being taken advantage of on installation. The national companies contract installation with independent dealers. Many ADT and Brinks customers have reported outrageous quotes, having to negotiate with the installer, and advertised specials being worthless. Other problems include monitoring errors and slow reaction time. When an alarm is triggered, the company calls you to determine if the alarm went off by accident (the large majority of home alarm triggers are accidents by the home owners). If they cannot get you on the phone, they will then call the proper authorities. Unhappy customers have reported no calls at all or very delayed calls. These companies also require you to contract with them for a specified amount of time, usually 2-3 years, even if you are unhappy with their service.

Local alarm monitoring systems are usually less expensive with higher levels of customer satisfaction. A local company will have fewer customers, so you are more important to them. You will get a less expensive, yet completely effective installation by an actual company representative. Because these companies rarely require long-term contracts, you have more freedom to change monitoring companies. Knowing this, they will usually charge less per month and put forth more effort to keep your business.

Any home alarm system comes with a useful lawn sign indicating that your home is protected by an alarm system. This, alone, is a form of prevention as a thief is more likely to hit a house without an alarm system. Alarm systems are also great for fires and other emergencies. Usually as an added feature, you can hook smoke alarms up to your monitoring system. If a smoke alarm goes off, the fire department is notified. This is especially beneficial during the night or if you leave pets at home during the day. Panic buttons are good if you happen to be home during a break-in or you have a medical emergency. You should also get a break on your homeowner's or renter's insurance when you have a system installed. Monitored home alarm systems are definitely worth the investment, but you shouldn't stop there.

House Sitters

Even if you have an alarm system, house sitters are invaluable. If you leave your home to go on vacation, your best defense is having actual people in your home. The majority of burglaries in the United States happen during the day while people are at work. Criminals will take the easiest route. If people are in their targeted home, they will move on to a house that appears empty. The problem with traditional house sitting services is that they simply make one or two trips to your home a day to collect mail, open curtains, water plants, and throw off criminals. That still leaves about 23 hours in the day that your home is vulnerable to intrusion or fires.

The best house sitting option is to have people living in your home. If you have a friend or family member stay at your home full-time throughout the length of your vacation, you will worry less about burglaries, fires, and other problems such as coming back to a flooded home because of a broken hot water heater. Having a house sitter also cuts down on preparation time and expenses before your vacation. You won't have to have your mail stopped (all a criminal has to do is watch your postal carrier skip your house to assume you're on vacation), buy and set light-timers, or even board the dog.

Don't have a friend or family member who can stay at your home? There are services available that match up people and live-in house sitters. It's as though someone is renting your house while you're on vacation, only they generally don't pay you rent. They will pay utilities, mow the lawn, take care of your mail, pets, and home while youre away. They will notify you of any problems. The services help you screen candidates and find the perfect person, couple, or family willing to take care of your home.

The Solution

The very best prevention you can implement is a combination of 24-hour home alarm monitoring and a house sitter if you are going to be away for any length of time. Don't become a statistic. Start protecting your home today!

Create Your Own Home Business

A home business is by far the best way to support yourself if you just cannot stand working for others for less money than you need to survive. It’s also the best way to get out of a good paying job that just takes up too much of your precious short life working for someone else.
Let’s face it, you probably know someone who has a home business. Do they look happy to you? Do they complain as much about work and money as you do? Probably not.

This is not to say that you should quit your job and start a home business. You should start one while you still have your job. Some people complain that this is hard and takes up too much of their free time. In the beginning a home business is not profitable – you have to work at it like anything else.

Some people eventually go back to work blaming some program or home business opportunity that wasted their time and didn’t work. Unfortunately, the odds are actually that they didn’t work hard enough and stick to their dreams. Many people allow themselves to believe that there are no legitimate home businesses. It’s easier to go to work thinking this than to let themselves truly believe that a home business is possible, profitable, or liberating.

But if you truly believe there are no good home businesses, that they are all scams, then what are the thousands of people doing everyday in your hometown driving around during work hours?

You know the ones. The people you see on your day off that are driving around and standing in line in places you frequent on your days off. They can’t ALL be on their days off too! You have wondered, just like I did, what it is these people do. I know you have.

Many of them have their own home business. Many of the people you see at the post office who know the clerks by first name are shipping packages of goods they sold on auction at Ebay or their own websites.

The cars parked in the county clerk’s office in your home town. Some are employees there, but not all of them. Many of the people coming and going from that office in your town (during business hours when everyone should be working, right?) are real estate brokers, or no money down buyers and sellers looking up local property information.

Home business owners are all around you, everyday. The home business industry is quite literally booming and is getting larger exponentially by the month.

The worst thing you could ever do to yourself, that is a life-altering belief system, is let yourself believe it is all a scam or that there is no room for YOUR creativity and YOUR value as a home business owner of any kind!

Take me for instance! I own my own website and I sell information, business tools for home business people who work on the internet, and services of all kinds. I work from home. I am one of those people you see during the week driving around town while you wonder what it is I do for a living. Nice to meet you!

Home Internet Business Available For Anybody

Lives have certainly been easier with the Internet around. You can find and access any piece of information easily and quickly. You do not need to go trudging to the library to do your research and to study. There is also no need for you to lug huge encyclopedias or other books back and forth from dusty shelves.
Aside from that, you can also use the Internet to pay your bills on time. Learning the latest news and trends is also easy. Catching up on the lives of your friends and classmates could be done through chat and e-mail and even by visiting your friends’ or your family’s blogs. And yes, you also can also earn your living or make that extra cash through the Internet by setting up your own home Internet business.
Earning money from the Internet is possible because you can start up a home Internet business. A home Internet business is very much possible because such a channel provides and serves as a whole venue for selling and marketing. If you have observed, there are many companies and businesses which keep and maintain websites. Most even do their transactions over the Internet. And if you are interested, you own home Internet business could be a part of them.
Anyone can start his or her own home Internet business. Most people who try out their luck at having their very own home Internet business are more often those people who cannot afford to be away from their main responsibilities for a long time. They can have different professions. Some can be students who are trying to earn a little cash to tide them over until their next allowance comes in. They can also be those people who are business minded and would only like to advertise his home business through the Internet. They can also be mothers or fathers who do not have somebody at home to take care of their kids.
Starting your own home Internet business can be fairly easy. However, you do need to have the basics: a computer, a phone line, a modem, and an Internet connection. Otherwise, you surely cannot put up your own business if you cannot primarily access the channel. You also would do need to have quite a background on the Internet and how it functions. Or else, you might find setting up your own home Internet business to be a challenge.
Before you go ahead and do your own stuff on the Internet, be sure that you first plan ahead. Make sure that everything is clear. After all, planning a business is really that crucial and essential. Without proper planning and preparation, your home Internet business could go down the drain in just one snap. But sure, such a type of business is not fail-proof. Like any venture, the home Internet business can be full of risks and if you have one, only two things are likely to happen: fail or succeed. Still, it is up to you though to make sure that your own home Internet business walks straight up and never goes down.

Buying a Home versus Renting a Home in Tampa Bay Florida

Renting a home is not uncommon as it is clear that some people cannot afford to buy their own home. The natural assumption is that it works out cheaper to buy a home over a long period of time. However, where many of us cannot afford the down payment on a new purchase of property, so renting a property on a yearly lease may be the way to go while saving for your first house.

Finding a home for rent in the Florida, Tampa Bay area depends on the availability of seasonal as well as year round property. What you need to consider are all the costs involved with renting a home. The cost of renting a home is normally determined by the value of the property and location. Unlike buying, most landlords require you to make a 3 month rent payment before moving in. This usually encompasses the down payment, the first months rent, and second months rent.
The problem with renting a home is two-fold: you will never get back what you put into your rental property (equity and ownership), and secondly you will have restrictions imposed on you that you would not have while owning your own house. However, as a short term solution, renting a home in a new area can be ideal while you save money and slowly shop for your dream home. I often recommend this to people who are relocating from the north and are not sure of where they want to buy or how big of a house they want to purchase.

The cost of buying a home is not cheap, we all know and respect that. Depending on the location that you choose within the Tampa Bay area, the costs can vary. Buying a home entails many costs especially if you do not have the immediate finances. But the rewards of home ownership make it all worthwhile. Some of the costs to consider are the initial down payment, closing costs, property inspections, taxes and of course homeowners insurance. In a renting situation, the landlord usually covers the costs of maintaining the apartment (fixtures, property landscape, etc). But of course, the rent that you pay will include these things, and rent in this area is getting more and more expensive all the time.
Buying a home opens up the option of choice in terms of architectural style and place of living. While the opposite applies for renting. Often you might be obligated to choose the place to rent that is cheaper and often not the best looking. That simply means renting can pigeon-hole you into living in an area or structure that although may be available and within your price range, it may not appeal to your sense of style.

Owning your own home is about benefiting from long term personal and financial satisfaction. Your own home means security and also having the option of creating the dream home the way you have always wanted it. Home ownership is also about experiencing the freedom of having your own serious investment. The point of emphasis therefore lies in being equipped with the right kind of service that will help you choose which home is right for you. Talking to people who can help you know which option of owning are available to you is without a doubt the right step to take.
In the Tampa Bay Florida Real Estate area there is an abundance of houses and condos to choose from. While property prices during the late ’05 season seemed to rise quite quickly, it's not too late to buy your dream home. Normally the best thing to do is to talk to a Tampa Bay, Florida real estate agent who can give you a better and realistic property pricing estimate.

Naturally what you have to remember is that your own needs are important. The type of lifestyle you envision can help you determine whether renting or buying is the feasible option.

Home Theatre

Home Theatre

With all of the technology that is available for people to be able to make their family or living rooms into their own personal home theaters, many people are deciding that a television, no matter how large it is, is simply not enough to complete their home theater experience. A new line of comparatively small and inexpensive digital home theater projectors is now available for anyone looking for the ultimate home theater experience. People who want to truly experience the atmosphere of the theater can now do so by creating their own miniature screening room complete with a home theater projector.

A home theater project isn’t just for showing movies at home. While videotapes and DVD’s can look amazing when viewed through a home theater projector, television programs, sporting events and even video games viewed through a projector are incredibly entertaining. The price of home theater projectors is very attractive when compared to the latest in big screen televisions and plasma TVs. A home theater project can provide the larger view of television programming often for thousands of dollars less than large televisions.

There are a number of different home theater projectors available to choose from to provide the exact viewing experience each individual desires in their home. It is important to keep in mind when deciding to purchase a home theater projector for the home that it will require a relatively darkened room in order for the images to be seen clearly. Many people can remember seeing the older reel-to-reel projectors that their parent’s showed home movies on for years. Today’s home theater projectors have incorporated digital technology into their design in order to be of a smaller size than traditional projectors and to be able to adjust settings for the perfect image.

Today’s home theater projectors project the light that displays images a number of different ways including the use of a liquid crystal display (LCD), mirrors or a combination of both. Home theater projectors that use a LCD is more likely to be less expensive than other models that use a combination of projection techniques. The most expensive type of home theater projector uses something called Liquid Crystal on Silicon to display images that some people believe to offer the sharpest image from a projector. Once a home theater projector has been chosen, it will require a screen on which to display images or if a person enjoys a challenge, he or she can attempt to construct their own original screen.

Most projectors seem to work best when they are mounted up high or even from the ceiling. Cables coming out of the projector tend to be unsightly and can be hidden inside the ceiling or walls. Hiring a professional to complete this task might be the only way to avoid damage and accidents when attempting to do it alone. Some people find creative ways to conceal the cords by covering them with neutral colored tape and then painting over the tape with the color that matches the ceiling or walls. Other people cover cords with furniture like paintings or bookshelves.

Once a home theater projector has become a part of a complete home theater system, most people rarely opt to use their television for their viewing entertainment. Home theater projectors truly allow for anyone to have their own movie theater right in their own living room.

What Exactly is a Home Stair Lift Anyways

What exactly is a home stair lift? For the elderly and people with various handicaps, a stair lift is an answered prayer. Imagine having trouble getting around and living in a two-story home all by yourself. You need to be able to upstairs and downstairs as you wish.

But, by doing so, you increase your risk of breaking your hip or worse from falling down the stairs. In this situation, you have several options. You can’t try to live out of the downstairs of your house. You could hire a helper to go up and downstairs for you as well as help you up and down safely. Or, you could forego all that, become more independent and enjoy more mobility by having what’s called a stair lift.

Essentially, a home stair lift is a motorized chair that’s attached to a stair way railing. It goes up the staircase and down. The user simply sits in it, buckled in and is able to safely go up and down the stairs as they please – fulfilling their daily tasks.

There are all sorts of makes; models ands styles of home stair lifts as there are chairs. Most of them run on a battery or electrical power source. They’re usually very quiet – even whisper quiet and they move without jolting the person seated in the chair. A joystick on the chair is manipulated by the user to go up and down the stairs.

Over the next few years, demand for home stair lifts will continue to increase and stair lifts will become more of a regular feature in people’s two-story homes.

Installing a Home Theater

Thinking about installing a home theater system? You’re not alone. Home theater is one of the fastest growing areas areas in home entertainment and the advent of DVD recorders means your set-up can now be entirely digital, without an inch of video tape in site.

Installing a home theater is a big decision and requires careful planning. Luckily there are a number of resources around to help you and you needn’t be a technical expert or a hi-fi buff to get the job done.

One of the first decisions you’ll need to make before you set about installing a home theater is whether your going to dedicate a whole room to the theater or whether it will share a space with a lounge, dining room, or office. Having a dedicated room allows you to position seating and speakers in the optimum position and you can seriously consider a projector and screen without it looking as out of place as it might in your living room.

Obviously budget is another consideration and this will dictate which equipment you buy initially and what you save for another day. As a bare minimum you’ll want a DVD player, widescreen television, and a surround sound audio amplifier and speakers. We’d recommend opting for a DVD recorder like this one from Phillips, or this from Panasonic. They’re obviously more expensive than a DVD player, but will give you much greater flexibility. And don’t forget to budget for cabling, its a very important part of installing a home theatre and one that’s often overlooked.

You’ll also want to think about the interior design of a dedicated home theater room and of course the seating is all important. You’re going to spend hours and hours watching movies and the last thing you need is uncomfortable seats.

Open Up Your House to The World Through Windows

A house without windows is just absurd! But a house without 'smart windows' is even stranger indeed! By 'smart windows,' we mean windows that multitask - that is, windows that do more than just let the sunshine in or let you see who's come knocking at your door. 'Smart windows' are those that help to insulate your home, convert heat and light into energy, make it harder for thieves to break in, and make your home appear larger than what it really is.

Without 'smart' windows, we're prone to experience high-energy bills, feelings of cramped living spaces, and unfortunately, easy theft.

This isn't sales propaganda - it's a fact. Just ask those living in homes that are more than ten years old to show you their energy bills! Or do a little research on the Internet regarding old windows and crime - or how large windows improve the psyche of employees and homeowners. Plain and simple - if you want lower bills, home security, and a feeling of freedom within your living space - new windows are the way to go.

Today's windows are much more resistant to weather conditions and heat thanks to new technological improvements. Today's windows are much more than mere glass. They are in fact, the result of high-tech engineering that's designed to either block irritating and harmful sunrays altogether. Or they're designed to use that light and convert it into energy that you can use to fuel other appliances in your home (such as an air conditioner, heating system, or central fan).

The way that new windows are installed is also designed to seal out things like cold air, pollution, and sound - not to mention robbers. Both windowpanes and their casings can be tamper-resistant, which is particularly helpful if you live not only in a highly populated area, but also an area that's repeatedly exposed to strong winds or nature's little uninvited guests, like squirrels or other annoying critters.

The newer windows are also designed in such a way that they open up a small home - making it seemingly larger than what it really is. When we're in an environment that gives us a feeling of freedom, we're suddenly open to express ourselves in a new form of comfort - a comfort that's free from restriction.

And thanks to new architectural developments, windows can be designed in almost any fashion that you like. No longer do windows need to follow the traditional square or rectangle. You could for example, have round, arched, organically shaped, or uniquely shaped geometric windows installed instead. Many people are having a little fun with window placements by having them installed on the roof or even within the home as French doors, for example.

If you're sold on having your current windows upgraded (and who can blame you!), then you'll probably enjoy learning about the large choices available as much as you'll enjoy them once they're installed in your home.

Ten Reasons Why People Work From Home

In no particular order:

1) They do not want to have to drive and make a commute to their place of employment. Perhaps their old job required driving on a dangerous highway and they valued their life enough to not take that chance anymore. Gas is really expensive and that would definitely contribute to this reason.

2) They want to spend as much time with their family as possible. I was lucky enough to have a stay at home mother, but there are too many kids these days that are not as lucky as I was. Or perhaps they just want to be with the people they care for the most without having a job to constrict and limit their time spent together.

3) They hate their bosses/managers/etc. I remember being treated like garbage at my first job. I was expendable. The fact that I was young, nervous and naive meant nothing to my superiors. I was forced to work hours I did not enjoy while they had all the choices they wanted. Sound familiar?

4) They're lazy. They dream of living a life of leisure, or they just want to make a living while doing a minimal amount of work.

5) They want to explore other areas of life they would never have time for with a job, or they have a passion that they never have time for. Sports, fishing, gardening, computers, video games, martial arts, RC gliders...the list is endless.

6) They enjoy not having to wear some fancy (or ugly) uniform while they work. They're free to work in their underwear if they please, or they don't have to wear anything period while they work *insert laugh track here*.

7) They never have to feel like somebody is watching them while they work. They can screw around, listen to music, look up non-work related sites on the internet, or anything else that would be frowned upon in the work place.

8) They can eat whatever they want, whenever they want. No more being limited to breaks, no more cafeteria food (didn't we all get enough of that back in school?).

9) No more obnoxious, weird co-workers.

10) You work for yourself at home. You're not making some CEO or whoever richer while being underpaid.

Home Business Opportunities Are They For Real

Many people today look to the Internet to create an income stream for them. This can be much more difficult than it looks with the huge amount of websites set up, the struggle to get a good position on the search engines, and so on. If you are able to set up a business in the real world and market it through a website on the Internet, you are in a much better position. For example, the possibility to sell and circulate photographs has exploded upward with the widespread use of the Internet. If you buy a digital camera, you find out in amazement, that you no longer have to buy film and you can take as many pictures as you like, after deleting the ones that are not acceptable. You can then download them to your computer and email them to anyone on the planet. Possibilities of selling photographs include setting up your own website to do this, or making arrangements with existing business owners. You could take pictures of people’s pets, which can be a difficult thing to do, but if you can talk to the animals like Dr. Doolittle then you should go for it. You could take pictures of tourists by well known landmarks in your area.

The natural medium for the Internet is to sell products that can be downloaded and emailed. These include digital photographs, any type of typed and written material, and now Audio (music, speeches, classes, etc.) and Video. Look at what hobbies and interests you have. You can make money by doing tasks in the real world like sewing, cooking, or whatever your hobby is. You can also write brief articles about these topics and post them on article submission sites. Even if you have not set up your own business in an activity you are familiar with, you can write articles to help fill out the websites of people who are engaged in these activities. You can find out about these exchanges by doing a simple Google search of the topic “freelance, articles” or something like that.

Another business which has been tremendously aided by the Internet is the Import-Export business. By having the instantaneous communications of the Internet and e-mail it is much easier to run such a business out of your home. If you have contacts in foreign countries, you can send them goods available in the United States, but expensive in their country. Alternatively, you can import handicrafts and specialty items from countries, for example in South America, if you have the business contacts.

Building a Log Home

Although living may be a bit more efficient *inside* in traditional housing, a modern home with all of today's conventional trimmings doesn't quite allow us to enjoy nature the way that log homes do. Modern homes are really built for communal living - complete with a residential plumbing/sewer system, paved streets, shopping centers, and a piece of the electrical grid. But in order to function the way that they're built to function, nature sometimes becomes an inconvenience and is often cleared away to accommodate for easy travel.

Some people try to incorporate nature into modern living with things like gardens, plants, and animal features. And this is fine for environments that provide ample space for this kind of lifestyle. However to return to nature - true nature that is - there's nothing like a log home plotted in the midst of a deep wooded area.

Log homes completely assimilate nature into one complete lifestyle without the need to artificially grow plant life or attract animals. Log homes put the homeowner in the unique position of enjoying these things right from the living room window.
Definition

A log home is a house built of wood - usually in a wooded area. Distinguishing a log home from the many different types of others is that it's constructed with actual tree logs. Like traditional homes, a log home is built from a foundation and it's built with walls, doors, and a roof. All that's needed to start is a constructor well skilled in home construction and logging!
History

Log homes are synonymous with colonial living, but some groups of Native Americans built log homes long before Columbus set foot on North American land. They were used for the same reasons that colonial families built them, however unlike the log homes of the past that we're familiar with, Native American log homes housed several families at one time - even housing an entire community in some cases. As the European population increased, the need for faster, easier, and cheaper construction methods grew and the log cabin was replaced with stone, mud, and brick type homes.
Current Usage

Today, very few homes are built with logs. In fact, it's a real treat to even find one. Still, they haven't lost their appeal because more and more people are building homes in this style.

In fact, modern versions of log homes can be quite surprising. They certainly offer more than the one-room houses available in the early 15th to 17th century. Today's log homes are built with multiple rooms, attics, high porches, large glass windows, and more. Because they fit into the 'natural' decor of rural living, they demand a lifestyle that appreciates a little bit of 'living in the rough' or those who just want to get away from suburban and city life.

If you enjoy having access to nature's own live entertainment, mountain views, and expansive lakes, then perhaps a log home is appropriate for you.
Application

Your construction company can help you design a log cabin that works with you, your family, and the environment in which you want to live. The important thing to remember is that you want to create a balance between your dependency upon modern conveniences and the natural gifts that surround you. You don't want to clear out a plot of wild land for example just for the sake of having a twenty-foot driveway. On the other hand, you don't want to build a log home in an area that's hard to access without a backpack or mountain picks either!

After you and your construction company design a log home that works for you, the both of you can start discussing the type of wood that's appropriate and whether you want the wood exposed in the home's interior (which by the way adds tremendous appeal).

Construction of your home will begin with pre-milled logs or actual tree trunks placed atop a perimeter of rocks. (The rocks prevent the logs from rotting on the ground.) And construction ends with stuffing gaps within the stacked logs with smaller pieces of wood and then Plastering the home's interior. Welcome home.

10 Characteristics of A Home Business Professional

Home Business Professionals are unique people. We are all very different people, with very different personalities and thinking processess. However, all successful home business professionals have the following characteristics in common.

1. Home business professionals are usually leaders, not followers. We like to set the standards, not adhere to them.

2. Home business professionals are always looking for new and better ways to do things. We believe that there is always a better, more effective way to get things done, and we seek to find it.

3. Home business professionals are very open-minded. We never say that an idea won't work without looking at all the facts, and if possible, testing the theory in question.

4. Home business professionals are generally very organized. We are our own bosses. There is nobody to tell us when, or how, to get things done. It is something we must do for ourselves, and being organized is usually the first step in getting things done effectively.

5. Home business professionals are hard workers. We know that starting a business is hard work, with long hours. However, we know that eventually, we will be able to work fewer hours and enjoy the same success. However, we do understand that work will always be involved, even if the hours are shorter.

6. Home business professionals like to help out others. If you talk to a home business professional, the chances are good that you will find that person does charity work of some sort.

7. Home business professionals are honest in their business dealings. When they see others being dishonest, they are quick to call them on it, and point it out to others.

8. Home business professionals are very dedicated. We love what we do. It is something we have chosen for ourselves. We make our own rules, and we love "going" to work each day. Our love for what we do drives us to do it better than anyone else and keeps us very motivated.

9. Home business professionals are very energetic. We don't have the stresses that the people in the corporate world have. We are not a part of the rat race. This allows us to have more energy. While traditional corporate employees tend to go home from work and stretch out on the couch to watch television, home business professionals walk out of their home offices ready to go have fun. We have alot of energy left over at the end of the day.

10. Home business professionals are happy people. We love what we do. We've made our own rules, and we are living the lives that we have chosen to live. Who wouldn't be happy?

There is No Place Like Home

Common concerns for the elderly include difficulty with stairs, difficulty with community activities such as grocery shopping, difficulty taking care of their home and difficulty taking care of them. Even with these concerns, there is a trend in today’s elderly to want to stay in their own home rather than go to an assistive living facility or a retirement center. The good news is that with the right help the aging population just might be able to accomplish staying in their own homes.

The first thing to think about is the kind of help that might be needed as the aging process ensues. It is important to think about the kind of help that might be needed in the near future. It is difficult to plan ahead because one never knows what life will throw their way. 3. Home health aide for short term health care needs. It is usually covered through Medicare for when someone gets out of the hospital and still need nursing care at home.
4. Adult day care centers are there for when the time when someone cannot be alone during the day. They usually pick you up and bring you home.

The cost of help varies depending on the types of services that are required. Some types of help do cost, however Medicare, Medicaid, or other long term insurances might assist with some home care. Funding is also available through non-profit programs on the Federal and State levels. It is important to check into individual insurance coverage to see what is covered. Checking into community resources and finding volunteer programs can also be a big help in assisting home care. In order to fulfill your wish of still living in your own home, make sure to look at all of your options, speak with your family and physician.

Living Room Decorating Ideas

Your home is your sanctuary and you’re getting tired of the boring atmosphere you’re living in. The good news is that you don’t have to spend all your money re-decorating your home. Here are five simple tips to help you jazz up and snazzy up your living room.

GET A FRESH COAT

There’s absolutely nothing like a fresh coat of paint to brighten up and old, boring room. There are great paint techniques that you can apply to completely change the look and feel of the room. Remember to keep the color calm and make sure it matches your things.

You can also go bold and daring by painting one wall dramatic and keeping the rest of the panels easy-going.

RE-ARRANGE

Play with your furniture and position it in different places to get a “new look”. If you have a long living room and your furniture looks lost in it, try moving the couches into a U-shape to make it seem fuller and also create a cozier environment.

NEW PAINTINGS AND DÉCOR

A new painting and some candles will make a world of difference to a bland and boring room. There are many stores that offer affordable decorating goodies. If you can’t afford all the décor you want, buy it in small batches, and get your absolute must-have item first.

There is so much you can do with a room without stretching your credit. Many stores have a lot of mix-and-match options that can be combined to create a crafty, trendy look.

GET RUGGED

A new rug is a great way to change the look and feel of the room. It can also transform it from cold and open to warm and inviting. Put it under the coffee table in your living room for a great “homey” effect.

COLOR WITH CUSHIONS

Cushions are relatively inexpensive and can really turn the room around. For added color get a matching couch throw and play with various styles. You’ll be amazed at the difference.

Affordable Large Home Building Projects

Affordable large home building projects have the advantage of serving a greater amount of people at once without sacrificing quality. This is exactly what is currently being implemented in the country of Turkey, where prospective homeowners are given options in their home loan choices.

Essentially, in prior years, Turkey had not been able to meet the demand of those requiring homes at affordable prices. Likewise, there were issues of sprawling slums, down and out neighborhoods and poor living conditions in the cheap homes that were available. But now, new affordable large home building projects are being utilized to serve the greater communities of Turkey and bring them the quality lifestyle they deserve.

Without affordable large home building projects, the average person of lower income is forced to live in unhealthy conditions, with pestilence, crime and all other sorts of nuisances in or around their homes. These new development projects will help raise the living standard in Turkey and allow more people to obtain the funding they need to buy the home they’ve always dreamt of.

It is easy to see how these new affordable large home building projects will benefit the masses. Likewise, less people will have to suffer the indignity of living in slums that are owned and operated by greedy individuals. Finally, families will be able to purchase homes in good neighborhoods at decent prices. It really doesn’t get much simpler than that.

Specifically, an organization called TOKI is taking the bull by the horns and guiding these new affordable large home building projects in Turkey. TOKI is committed to the preservation of a high living standard for all and the promise that everyone deserves to have a roof over their heads without paying an arm and a leg for it. It is because of organizations like TOKI that those who suffer the most economically will soon be able to feel like any other person in the country with a quality home and a quality lifestyle at their fingertips.

The Known Advantages of A Living Trust

A living trust is an arrangement by which you as the grantor place Property in Trust and name yourself or some other person as Trustee or Co-Trustee, but reserve the right to revoke the trust so that the property can be returned to you. Generally, the trust agreement provides that upon your death the property will go to the named beneficiaries.
Why set up a living trust? The Advantages of the living trust include the following:
1. Provides for Property Management or disbursement;
2. Avoid all legal fees and Expenses Associatedwith probate;
3. Automatically avoids All Probate of the property;
4. Assures uninterrupted income and Access To Principal for family beneficiaries;
5. Eliminates time delays in settling the estate - the successor trustee Immediately Distribute the funds as indicated in the can revocable living trust agreement;
6. Maintains privacy - nothing is printed in the newspaper as is the case When a Person Dieseither in testate (no will) or with only a last will;
7. Avoid the Emotional Trauma, aggravation and frustration of a complicated probate court procedure;
8. Protects up to $1,500,000 from federal estate taxes for a single person and up to $3,000,000 for a Married Couple. This rule works for US citizens only!
And, what About The Children? How mature and ready will they be to inherit my estate? It’s true that age 18 is the legal minimum age for inheriting an estate, but is your 18-year old wise enough to manage substantial wealth? Maybe he should receive assets in stages (say, one-third at age 25, another third at age 30, and the remainder at age 35)? Shall he receive a big allowance, or should he be encouraged to get a job?
A great advantage of the Living Trust is that you can decide and control how to distribute your estate to your children.

Estate Planning and Living Trust

A living trust is an agreement in which one person (the grantor) transfers property to a second person (the trustee) for the benefit of a third person (the beneficiary).
A living trust allows the grantor to name either himself or some other person as trustee or co-trustee, reserves his right to revoke the trust at any time and return the property to himself, and lets the grantor control distribution of his estate to his beneficiary upon the grantor's death. A living trust is created while the grantor is alive, rather than upon his death under terms of his will.
A living trust lets you control the distribution of your estate. You simply transfer ownership of your property and your assets into the trust, then serve as its trustee or select a person or an insti-tution to be its trustee.
With a living trust, the person you appoint to handle the trust after your death - the successor trustee - simply transfers ownership to the beneficiaries you named in the trust. Much of the time, this can be accomplished in a few weeks. When all of the property has been transferred to the beneficiaries, the living trust ceases to exist.

Real estate auction action Buying a home at auction

Due in part to the popularity of the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)'s home auction program, more potential homebuyers than ever are buying homes at auction. Homes for auction aren't limited to just HUD, however. Many government entities auction homes for payment of back taxes, and some homeowners even auction their homes on eBay.com!

Homebuyers considering buying a home at auction should take some steps in advance to help them with their bid price, and even whether to bid at all on a specific home. There will always be a degree of risk when buying a home this way, but with a little diligence, potential homebuyers could save a lot of money buying in this manner.

Before the auction, you should have your financing arranged, and have enough cash on hand or in your bank account to cover a deposit on your purchase. You need to check the features, location, condition, and ownership history first. Afterwards, be sure to learn what the property is worth by looking at sales of comparable properties in the same area. Compare homes with the same number of rooms is possible, but be sure to allow for price differences due to pools, decks, carpeting, window treatments, etc.

At the auction itself, resist the temptation to get into a personal bidding war, just "to beat out the other guy". Have a set price limit and stick to it. Other houses will come along, and you don't have to win the first auction that comes your way.

You should know that the price of a home at auction is typically the loan balance (if foreclosed), plus any back taxes owed, plus legal fees and other expenses in foreclosing the property. This will typically be the opening bid amount, and the price will go up from there. Even so, it's possible to get a great deal in an auctioned house, with a little research and planning first.

Also, know that you probably won't be able to get an inspection, and are buying the home "as is". If you can't do any needed repair work yourself, or can't hire it done within your budget, you may not end up getting such a bargain in the end.
